Keeping Up With The Kasems. Should The Child Of A Dying Person Be Granted Permission To End His Life If She Has Ill Will Towards Him? Keeping the Big Issue On The Rails.

Misdirecting with media noise so people look away from the main issue.

Programming the case so the big issues are confronted.

If you were a Judge wouldn’t you need to know and understand if the child fighting for control to end a man’s life, is actually in a condition of ill will towards that person?

The record shows that as soon as his daughter got control of his health, her first step was to get permission to pull her father off of life support as soon as possible.

The public statement from his widow, when legally she protested of loosing the power of Mr. Kasem’s health care:

“In addition to her conversion to Scientology, Kerri and Casey also had a falling-out over Kerri’s involvement in soft-core pornography,”

 

And, 

 

” Her true motive is to get back at her father, and to be appointed to a position of influence over him where she can alter his estate plan and have his money go to her and her church of Scientology.”

Kerri Kasem denied the allegations and stated, “I wish Jean would just focus on what’s important and visit her husband, who does not have much time left.”

 

Hold everything!  Don’t you think if that child has been on the outs with her father it IS VERY IMPORTANT if you are going to seek permission to pull the plug on his life?  WHY would Kerri Kasem imply this is a non importance?

 

O.K., so Kerri denied all of this.

 

Did anyone bother to check if what his widow was saying was true?

 

And if it was, does the widow now have the right to sue the child for perjury in court, and the judge for negligence?

 

Yes, she does,

 

Was it true?  Did the widow lie?

 

Here is what I have found and you figure this out for yourself.

“Deraney denies that Kerri Kasem has ever been a Scientologist,”  adding, “She loves studying religions. Jean picked out the most controversial one to distract from what’s really going on.”

 

How is that for double talk? Get it?

 

Let me take you through that again.

Then,

 

“Jean picked out the most controversial one to distract from what’s really going on.”

 

You deny, then admit, then accuse the widow of trying to “distract from what’s really going on”.

About the pornography and nude photos. which Mr. Kasem’s widow mentions, Mr. Kasem had a falling out with his daughter about. These are available on the net.

Did she withhold vital information from a judge, if she was on the outs with her father before he became too disabled to speak on his own behalf?

I found one item that I would want to explore:

It turns out these two siblings were allowed to see their father! There was some kind of confidentiality agreement between them and his widow!

“Julie and her brother Mike Kasem reached a confidential agreement with their stepmother in December that allowed them to visit their father, although Kerri Kasem refused.”

Let’s review the press release to the public, from Mr. Kasem’s daughter, about why Mr. Kasem’s daughter pulled him off of life support?

The press release:  In accordance with Kerri Kasem’s wishes, doctors will no longer provide infusions of water, food and medicine.

This is Kerri Kasem’s statement:

“The court’s decision today ……   ( HOLD EVERYTHING!  THE COURT’S DECISION?  Yes, this is how it goes with the spin!!!!  WHO’S DECISION was it to take him off of life support? It was his conservator’s decision. His daughter’s decision.  She obtains legal APPROVAL from the court.  …….)   ….upheld our father’s explicit wishes as expressed by him in his health directive,” Kerri said in a statement after the hearing. Kasem’s daughter was referring to a directive the radio and television icon signed in 2007 saying he wouldn’t want to be kept alive if it “would result in a mere biological existence, devoid of cognitive function, with no reasonable hope for normal functioning.”

She is backed up by her attorney: (If he wants to get paid) 

“To continue forcing artificial nutrition and hydration would “at best prolong the dying process for him and will certainly add suffering to an already terribly uncomfortable dying process,” Kerri’s lawyer, Troy Martin, said.”

“I think Kerri has conducted herself in a way that demonstrates she’s solely concerned about the health of her father,” attorney Troy Martin said.

Who is attorney is Troy Martin?  Kerri’s attorney.

I am curious how much of that 500,000.00 Kerri demanded from her father’s estate for conservatorship expenses is going to attorney Troy Martin? (See other recent post on that) 

Maybe he’s working pro bono and isn’t charging anything for media releases or legal representation.

Kasem died of starvation and dehydration. That is what happens when you cut off fluids and nutrients.

There are people that disagree about the humanity in this, and attest that this is a terrible and torturous manner in which to die. With regards to withholding the fluids. Several days with out fluids and how are you doing and feeling?  Maybe your tongue is stuck to the roof of your mouth?  Your lips are swollen? A dying man can’t get a glass of water? Seriously?

Withholding food and nutrients, fine. But fluids? For days? There is vast research available about the torturous effects of dehydrating to death. Also known as death by dehydration. 

HOWEVER, The main point is this. Was a woman on the outs with her father granted conservatorship over his health, which she shifted to mean and be, conservatorship over his life?

After the report surfaced with the evidence of her involvement in Scientology, which she at first denied, she issued a new statement:

“I’ve studied many religions and Jean will of course find the most controversial one and use it against me,” she said.

Wait!  The widow never said she had an issue with Scientology did she?  She said Kerri and her father had a falling out about it.

Can you see the spin?

Jean Kasem’s attorney in this particular matter was unfocused , did not make the media attention about the ethics of this matter, and the big picture, and lost in court.

When she got angry at him afterwards, for setting her up for a loss, he then spoke to the media about her in a derogatory way, which added to her burden.

He discredited himself in this way and this is a career killer for an attorney.

So, Kerri Kasem can bring it on with the media connections. And all of the press releases, (which we will dissect) are issued to the press from Kerri’s various people. So far that includes:

A “Rep”

Her attorney.

Her P.R. (Public Relations)

Her “spokesperson”.

Her Private Investigator.

Her “publicist”.

And, the media head lines read from what her people give them in a statement.

And, she has the support of her family.

If you look at the other side, Mr. Kasem’s widow, she, according to the most recent reports, does not even have an attorney let alone a vast media campaign going with press release staff.

And, she has Mr. Kasem’s youngest child with her, whom she seems to be shielding from this. So, they are a unit that is being attacked.

Now, watch this video very carefully. This is how to tell a lie by asking a question.

The female interviewer asks Kerri Kasem how she is managing through this,  “all alone”, when she says, “It seems like it would be too much for one person to handle??”

One person is not handling this, trust me. See the list above.

I kid you not. And, Kerri Kasem answers, as if it is true!

She has vast resources, staff and support, and the 500K fee from her gig as conservator, which she won in court.

Watch someone tell a lie with a question. This happens in the media more than you care to know.

And you can to think with the fact that behind media release, there is a PURPOSE (message you want to convey).

The purpose behind this release would be to garner sympathy for Kerri Kasem.

Also notice, someone provided a less than flattering video of Mr. Kasem’s widow at the end of this. Will anyone watching this wonder WHO provided Fox news with that unflattering video clip?  No. People just don’t think like that.

No, people will not wonder.

What is presented here is the poor suffering innocent daughter, highlighted against the back drop of a video disparaging her father’s widow.

And in a subtle way. without really being aware of it, people watch this, and unconsciously “choose side and cast a vote”.

Oct. 7, 2013: Julie Kasem Files for Conservatorship, Is Denied.

Los Angeles (CNN) — A request by Casey Kasem’s children that a temporary conservator be appointed for their ailing father was denied by a judge on Tuesday.

Kasem’s daughter Julie Kasem and her husband filed a conservatorship petition in a Los Angeles court last month, claiming the retired radio host “has been isolated from his daughters, friends and other family” by his wife.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Lesley Green ruled Tuesday that Kasem, 81, was being well cared for by his wife, Jean Kasem.

On June 06, 2014,  Kerri Kasem won out in court and was granted charge of his health care.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – The daughter of ailing radio personality Casey Kasem was granted conservatorship over his health care on Friday, as a family representative said the deejay “won’t be with us much longer.”

Kerri Kasem will oversee the care given to her 82-year-old father said Danny Deraney, a representative for the deejay’s three children from his first marriage.

This was a TEMPORARY.  Kerri Kasem’s temporary conservatorship over her father is in effect until June 20, 2014, when another California court hearing was scheduled on whether to make the conservatorship permanent. This is from the CNN article:

Breaking news on June 11, 2014, Kerri got permission to pull the plug on his life support after a bitter legal fight with Mr. Kasem’s wife who fought to keep him alive.

Summary

While given this temporary power she used it to pull Casey Kasem off of life support.

Her reign of power was not put in danger come June 20, 2014, as she pulled him off of life support before anyone could contest it.

In August Kerri Demands 500,000 in expenses for looking out after her father while she was conservator: 

“A judge on Monday gave Casey Kasem’s widow until Sept. 8 to bring a lawyer to court and state any objections to a request for about $500,000 in fees and other costs submitted by lawyers and others associated (That would be Kerri also) with the establishment of a conservatorship over the radio icon before his June 16 death.”

The media issue here is that this valuable piece of information did NOT made national headlines.  I only found it in a small paper from Santa Monica.  The news that did make national headlines were the press releases from Kerri Kasem about the “time and care and love” she gave to her father in his final days.  She did not issue press releases about her bill for this.

The attorney for the other party should have made it national news. 

Then, followed it up by publishing the accounting sheet for it, (if one was ever given).  Casey Kasem paid this tab from his estate.  He left this daughter only two million in inheritance according to her own press release.  But she billed him another 500K to be in charge of his care the last few days of his life.

This is valuable information and significant news. This should be the controversy generated.

Keeping up with the Kasems. Purposeful Conflict Resolution. Knowing if There are Hidden Players In The Game

My purpose is not to resolve conflict between those parties.  My purpose is to resolve conflict between the bystanders lured in with feelings and emotions, that may or may not be appropriate for the situation.

I trust, as I continue to point out facts this will have a calming effect on the onlookers.

Going back I notice Mr. Kasem and his wife have no history of bad public relations or scandal for more than 35 years together.

In fact, they have a long history of harmony and supporting charities and causes that benefit others.

So what was the first hint of public scandal?  It is important to return to that point, the point where the boat began to rock,

Looking back, it was when Mr. Kasem’s health took a turn for the worst and his caretaker decided to file a law suit against, some reports say, the couple, some say Mr. Kasem’s wife, I do not have the court documents, for wrong doing. I am sharing that article and the source on that for you to read.

There are conflicting stories with conflicting details. Meet the press!

The revelation about Kasem’s ailing health came out as part of that lawsuit filed against the couple or one of them, by their former housekeeper. Hilda Loza, who also served as a caregiver to Casey. Claiming that she was mistreated while in the employ of the family.

Everyone has the right to quit, so why didn’t she?  If she was no longer happy working there?

Jean Kasem, Casey’s wife filed a document through her lawyer that shed light on her husband’s deteriorating health.

“My husband is terminally ill and unable to leave home,” Jean claimed, asking for a continuance of a few months to allow “the situation to resolve or end, unfortunately.”

I suspect she filed the document attesting to his state, because he too was summoned in that law suit. That would make sense wouldn’t it?

It would be vital information to dig up the papers to see how just far off the press got it, and WHO the press got the false information from.

A judge ultimately threw out the case, ruling that Loza did not properly serve the Kasem’s with legal action.

Incidentally, I am reminded here of Marlon Brando’s housekeeper upon his death, filing a suit for an expensive ring she said fell down the sink. They paid her off. Perhaps Marlon left no provisions for her.

It must be very difficult in such situations where employment and benefits are seen coming to an end, along with your usefulness, after devoting so much of your life caring for someone else. 

What I am curious about know, is what happened to Hilda Loza?  Are we to presume she just gave up and wandered home?

There is a report in TMZ that she was paid 10,000.00.   I have read  false and misleading reports at that sight, (Which I will illustrate later) and my comments to correct false reports have even been moderated or edited off the site!

Why does matter where Hilda went?  

It would matter significantly if she is now taking money, out of desperation, having lost her income with Mr. Kasem’s death, from Kerri Kasem or any other member in her family who is currently legally aggressive towards her former employer, for information to harm her former employer, or betraying the trust or confidence agreements, or contracts made with her former employer.

She vanished off the scene so, it is possible she received money from someone. I would want to know, from who? Why? And for what? 

And, is Kerri Kasem paying a woman who was suing her father and his wife with slander, to get inside information about her father’s former wife?  

These are important facts to know.

This woman is an instrumental key and a potential witness for both sides.

Are the statements Kerri Kasem is making to the press now, about her father’s widow, being bought from this former employer, against the back drop of her loss and desperation?  

This is where I would direct an attorney for Jean Kasem, to obtain a deposition or to hire a private investigator.

This is information I would consider vital information.
